Last week, I helped a new client with time blocking and she has been blown away by her increase in productivity in such a short time. So, will it help you? Well, here's the quick scoop. When you want to list it out, brain dump everything on your plate this week. To get real with how much time it's going to take you, you want to estimate it in how much time it actually takes, not what you think it takes, be honest, no squirrels allowed. (I have a lot of squirrels in my schedule, but I kick them out with time blocking.) Three, so block it in. Schedule dedicated time slots for each task on your calendar. And four, be flexible, things come up; adjust your blocks as needed.
Here's the bonus tip: schedule “me time,” too. I also schedule like my morning routine and my evening routine, so that I have those things and I just kind of make it a habit, that's good to block out as well. Time blocking equals less stress, “more done” in a schedule that works for you.
There's your quick tips for time blocking and increasing your productivity without all of the busy work, because we just don't want to be busy and not getting anything done. Do you think time blocking will help you? Let me know in the comments.
